Whether you’re a local, or visiting friends & family in Bristol this Christmas, we’re sharing some of our best-kept secrets of the City we know and love, so you can enjoy them too!
So, without further ado, here’s our guide to take on Bristol this December:
Last-minute Christmas shopping to do? Don’t worry, Bristol has you covered with an array of shops and Christmas markets dotted around the city.
Cribbs Causeway is home to over 150 shops and to Winter Wonderland, the UK’s biggest ice track and Santa’s Enchanted Ice Castle - perfect for a family day out!
Situated in the heart of the city, Cabot Circus features all your high street shops, along with over 50 unique market stalls and live music in the Jäger Barn Bar, you can even try your luck with some Bavarian curling! Fancy it? Book your session here. You can also make your way over to Millenium Square for the Apres Bar and Bump Roller Disco.
Bristol also loves an independent retailer so why not shop locally at over 450 Christmas market stalls throughout Bristol! Check out the list here.
Well, it wouldn’t be Christmas without overindulging on hot chocolate, and we wouldn’t recommend anywhere other than Mrs Potts Chocolate House at the bottom of Park Street.
They boast an impressive menu fit for any chocoholic and even offer vegan and gluten free options, meaning nobody needs to skip this treat!
Once you’re finished, you could venture up-hill to some of the unique, trendy boutiques and complete your Christmas shopping.
We love the Street Art Culture of Bristol, you’ll soon see it for yourself and experience first-hand the unique and wonderful artwork we have to offer, including Banksy and other local artists.
If this leaves you wanting to know more than you can book onto one of the many street art tours available here.
You can’t visit Bristol without seeing the Clifton Suspension Bridge at least once - it’s a local favourite and not to be missed!
Stop by the White Lion Bar as part of the Hotel du Vin, day or night, and you’ll benefit from its panoramic views of the Suspension Bridge and Avon Gorge. There’s a relaxed vibe and you’ll be able to stop for a drink or even a bite to eat.
Home to our Christmas party last year, the Bristol Old Vic is the oldest working theatre in the English-speaking world. Full of character, following its multi-million-pound redevelopment, including a brick expo, including the restoration of its original brickwork in the foyer, this is a great spot to grab a drink or to get in the Christmas spirit and see a festive classic. This year, amongst others, ‘A Christmas Carol’ returns for another year and you can get your tickets here.
This December, the Passenger Shed's pop-up cinema is showing the all-time favourite, Elf, on Sunday 22nd December and you can book your ticket here.
Whatever brings you to Bristol this December, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
